  • I can't find an easy way to let Gameloft know this, so hopefully they check out this forum.

I hate, hate, hate, HATE the new way of opening chests.

I appreciate the developers trying new things to shake things up and make the old new again, but it is  terrible.

The icons go by too fast to have any chance of clicking on what you actually want.

Thats fine for Bronze, Silver, and Gold.  But if I'm going to spend my hard earned money or gems on a platinum or legendary chest, I want to know I'm going to get a decent return if I keep trying, not just gaston statues or rabbit hedges every chest.

    Terrible.

    • I doubt any game developers actually hang out on the fan wiki. You could try @-ing them on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Or you can open the menu at the top right corner of your game and then tap Customer Care, which opens your browser and takes you to the Gameloft website. Then scroll to the bottom, hit "I didn't find an answer to my question" and then "Contact Us." (Under Issues, select "Questions/Suggestions/Feedback."

I always get junk from Platinum and Legendary chests anyway, so the new system doesn't really make a difference what kind of prizes I get. (It just pisses me off and makes me feel like it's my own fault for not getting anything worthwhile.) If I'm worried about tapping too soon or too early, I just close my eyes or look away when I tap the prize bubble. It's about as random as letting the game choose for me.

    • Tried going through customer care with no luck.  For some reason I couldn't log on to gameloft forum.

I'm sure my complaints mean nothing to them anyway.  After multiple decorations I just need to vent for a moment.  I'm good now.

I just wish they would realize "if it ain't broke don't fix it".  Try focusing on making the game better rather than just making it different.

    • I was wondering whether the clicking even influences anything!! I believe the chest is already pre-determined (as it was before) and they just gave the illusion that you control something.

Yes, the chest IS pre-determined. There is no difference if you click a different time. They thought they might make it more fun to see what you could get, but this has no impact on what you will get.

    • I was wondering the same.  It certainly doesn't seem to make a difference.

Which, in a way, is even worse than just not being able to click fast enough.

It means the developers spent their time and resources to program something completely pointless.

Instead of programming a new plot of land to buy, which EVERYONE wants, they programmed a stupid feature, that NOBODY asked for.

      Sad.

    • I noticed something strange about the *new* chests and wondered if anyone got this as well.  The first day they changed the system, I WAS able to choose what I wanted.  It's kind of like that old whammy game where if you were focused and nimble enough, you could get something specific.  It's how I got Gaston in the legendary chest, and I got everything I wanted those first couple days.  I thought to myself, "I wonder if and when the devs will realize how relatively easy this is and then make it random again."  Sure enough, they seem to have corrected this *problem* after a couple days.  I think that really sucks.  You'll get more people paying for chests if it becomes a game of skill instead of chance.  That's been my biggest gripe with the game.

    • You definitely can't influence the chest content. The chests are already determinated as you receive them (like in every other game with looting chests). I don't think it's easy or even possible to program it otherwise. Btw. IMHO the "new" chest opening looks better than the old. Not that I asked for it, but probably they just added it because it's no great effort.

      Yeah. Good point.

It was never possible to "choose your reward". You probably had believed so because you got good rewards.

Per DMK's Twitter, it's still random, so if anyone thinks you're choosing your own prize, you're not: https://twitter.com/DisneyMKingdoms/status/987401672195534848

    • Hm.  It appears it was just me then.  I just thought it was beyond coincidence that I had 100% success rate getting what I wanted the first two days.  I had assumed it was a glitch the devs *fixed* after rather quickly.

      Hahaha no worries it's understandable.

When the update came out, I thought we chose our prizes as well, as every time I clicked, it seems I always got what I clicked

It is irritating to see othings you want but don't get.  I wish it was back to one click and done.

    • The behavior changed a few days ago. You was able to get random loot from a chest. Tried with the same save game on several devices. First synced the save game via google play or apple‘s gamecenter to all devices and opened the chests on the devices one by one, discarded the loot if i didn’t like it and tried on the next device, every chest loot was different! Now, since a few days, the first loot is always the same, on all devices, so it is predetermined. The drop chance is not calculated during the spinning wheel and not during chest assignment. The chances/odds shown in the chest overview are not right and you are pranked. Example: If you buy two lilo and stitch chests for 60 gems each, the first one will always get you the exact same item on all devices while the second one is still random loot based on the time of your click or maybe it is precalculated during assignment. But the second chest‘s content changes with every attempt. So the second chest behaves as before whereas the first one‘s behavior has changed recently. That’s fraud as it doesn’t reflect the odds and the system is inconsistent. Long story short, the spinning wheel suggests you a choice you don’t have, the content is not even determined during assignment or opening.
